The farmers working with myAgro in Senegal believe the program is making a big difference already and they see its potential to greatly contribute to the development of their villages over time.
Read some of the feedback our field agents received when doing periodic interviews with myAgro farmers.
What changes have you noticed in your fields since joining myAgro?
“Since I received trainings with myAgro, everything they’ve told me to do I do to have a good harvest and the myAgro fields and other fields are not the same. There is a big difference between the fields and really it’s advancing well. Previously we cultivated 10 hectares, but didn’t have much harvest, but with the myAgro system you can cultivate just a little to have a lot.” – Abdoulaye, male early adopter, Kolonding
“The field I grew with myAgro is not the same as my other fields because the myAgro field has the micro-dose method and fertilizer whereas the others have neither so the fields can’t be the same.” – Mamadou, male village chief, Séoro
Why did you enroll for 2014?
“Because I saw the fields myAgro farmers have in my village – they have good inputs and, truly, it’s interesting, especially the payment system. You pay little by little – it suits us farmers. Also, there’s follow up by a myAgro agent in the field” – Mamadou, new male member, Lycounda
“I’m an early adopter of myAgro and I saw that with myAgro there is improvement. There is also follow-up and myAgro has agents on the ground– Abdoulaye, male early adopter, Kolonding
“I enrolled. There is even a women’s group who wants to enroll. That is to say that the whole village is interested. They will enroll this Saturday, God-willing.” – Mamadou, male village chief, Séoro
What impact do you think myAgro can have on your community?
“If it continues like this, myAgro will help our village develop. As they started with three farmers, now if it grows, that’s really something. We will encourage them and together we will succeed. The whole village is very happy with myAgro.”– Mamadou, new male member, Lycounda
“I am very happy with myAgro. For my, myAgro came late to our village because I know that if it had been here for a long time I would have really had good results from harvests. I encourage everyone to work with myAgro. Thank you.” – Souleyman, male member, Ndoga Babacar
