The months leading up to harvest can often be the most difficult for farmers, as they wait for their crops to grow so they have food to eat and sell. Assetou is a first-year myAgro farmer in Senegal growing peanuts. So far, she is seeing lots of growth in her field, which gives her hope that she will have a large harvest.
“It’s a difficult time because right now, I don’t have much money at all,” she says, “but when you see my field, there is hope that I’ll have a large harvest. And if there’s hope, that gives me the courage I need to work hard on my field.”
