In addition to designing our products with and for farmers, myAgro uses marketing strategies based on local customs that help reach more farmers.
In Mali, every month myAgro holds a meeting with men and women around tea. This event, called a ‘thé ni baro’ (‘discussion around tea’ in Bambara), is an opportunity for the locals to strengthen relationships and to discuss agriculture in Mali. During these discussions, villagers talk about topics like how to have good soil quality, and myAgro field staff are there to inform them about myAgro and offer farming tips. Like the Open House events, or Journees Portes Ouvertes (JPOs), these gatherings welcome interested farmers to learn more about the different seed, fertilizer, and training packages myAgro offers.
In Mali, as in many African countries, sitting around tea is a moment of sharing and relaxation. The thé ni baro allows villagers to come together and socialize in a relaxing environment while learning about how to increase their harvests and income.
