myAgro operates in a small part of Tanzania. We started operations in 2018 as a pilot program with more than 400 farmers from one district. Since then, we have grown to serve 4000 farmers in the 2021/2022 season.
The quality services of myAgro have made many enrolled farmers successful in agriculture. Farmers of myAgro have witnessed an increase in yields and income, and through it, our farmers have become our ambassadors. Their support and belief in myAgro resulted in the Nachingwea district commissioner becoming eager to meet myAgro after hearing good news from myAgro farmers in villages throughout Nachingwea.
The Nachingwea District Commissioner (DC) usually visits people throughout different villages to address various issues. During one of his visits, he decided to meet with farmers to have conversations with them. The farmers interviewed by the DC turned out to be myAgro farmers and they showed high levels of customer satisfaction and engagement with the myAgro services, which led him to reach out to myAgro to meet more myAgro farmers and see their fields.
Earlier this year, the District Commissioner Honorable, Hashim Komba, finally held his visit and myAgro was honored to have him experience our program. The DC was accompanied by District Agriculture, Irrigation and Cooperation Officer (DAICO), ward officials, and village officials.
myAgro Tanzania manager, Amos Kasanga, Field Coordinator, Alphonce Ndonde, and Village Entrepreneur, Ally Mpwahera, hosted the visit and there was excitement at Naipanga, the largest ward in Nachingwea District, as farmers gathered to meet with community leaders.
The district commissioner and other officials had the opportunity to hear testimonies from farmers who farmed last season. They also visited their farms to see the condition of the myAgro crops.
The DC was really impressed by the myAgro model. He promised to support myAgro by preparing a special visit to all villages of Nachingwea to provide awareness about the myAgro modal and encourage every household to join myAgro by planting at least a quarter of an acre.
