Samba is a 40-year-old farmer, and husband. and father of 4 from the Mbewame Ndorong village in Senegal. While he has been farming with myAgro for 2 years, the first year myAgro came to his village Samba was not interested and did not want to join. However, he later heard community members talking about a farmer who had planted the same day he had, using the same peanut seeds, but had much better results. So he went to the farmer to ask how he did it and the man told him that he applied the training he had learned from myAgro. Shortly after, Samba connected with the local VE, enrolled, and has been applying myAgro’s farming methods ever since.
The last harvest with myAgro, Samba got 4 bags of peanuts on a quarter of a hectare. Before, he would get just 2 bags, and Samba says that he shares pictures of his yield with people because he is so happy with his results. But these results make more than just great photos, they make a great impact on Samba and his family. Including his immediate family, Samba supports 12 people in his household with his farming. With his harvest, Samba saves seeds for the next season, makes oil to use, and has food for his family and livestock. He has also been able to save money now that he has fewer expenses and has used his savings to buy 4 sheep which he sells during Eid.
Samba recommends myAgro to everyone and says that if they want to have the same result as him they should join.
