Ahmadu Ngom is a farmer from Keur Samba, Senegal who has a passion for farming.
“Farming is something that I love to do,” Ahmadu shared with us.“When I’m farming I get excited because I am going to have something to feed my family.”
He enrolled in a package of millet to farm on 5/6 hectares of land after hearing about success stories in his community.“I joined because I am a farmer and I heard people talking about myAgro, so I decided to join to find out what it’s about.”
When Ahmadu arrived at the delivery site to pick up his package, he told our team that he was excited to see myAgro delivering on its promise of providing agricultural materials and that he is looking forward to seeing the results of his planting. He knows that a good harvest means that he can create opportunities for his family and ensure they have what they need to meet their needs.
“I feel good because of what I see. myAgro promised that they would deliver and they did it. They are here, and everything is in order. That’s what makes you feel good, everything being in order. After a good harvest, it feels good because I know that I can feed my family, and I am good financially.”He also shared that he is grateful that a resource like myAgro is available to farmers like him because the little-by-little payment model gives them access to the financial resources needed to be successful.
“Before you start farming you need a base, and the base is to have financial support. You need to have peace of mind to concentrate and cultivate and you have peace of mind knowing that you have access to financial resources. Agriculture is the only thing we know and it is also the only thing we have. Working in agriculture is how we can take care of ourselves and pay for the medicines we need, the bills we have to pay, and send the children to school. It is how we go forward in life.”
