Photo of the Week: Benefits of a Bigger Harvest

Madame Colly Diouf is a mother of 6, a wife, a business woman, and a myAgro farmer in Senegal. When she’s not working in the fields or caring for her kids, Diouf takes her peanuts to the market to sell for cash. During harvest time, she was thrilled to see the results of her myAgro field. Now that harvest is done, she confirms her success.

“This year was my best harvest ever,” she says, “I got 13 bags of peanuts, when in the past I couldn’t even get 5.”

Like Diouf, the average myAgro farmer increases his or her harvest by 50-100%. As their harvests increase, so does their farming income.

“The biggest benefit of the extra income I have from myAgro is my children’s education. Now, during the time of school enrollment, I have no debt to pay off like I did before when I took out loans, so I can focus on paying their school fees. I don’t have to worry about them being the last to pay their school fees, because now they can be among the first,” she explains proudly.
