Our Senegal program is scaling to reach 600 farmers for the 2014 growing season, an increase of over 500 farmers compared to our original pilot group. To accomplish this, we’ve enlisted the support of our “Early Adopter” farmers –those who cultivated with us this past season—to provide proof of our process to their neighbors and friends.
Our field agents have organized “field tours”, which allow interested farmers to tour existing myAgro farm plots in order to see, touch, and sometimes even taste results for themselves. These meetings also give our Early Adopters the opportunity to share experience as a myAgro farmer. Most often, they express their appreciation for the hard work our field agents have put in to provide trainings and technical support to achieve their superior harvest.
Pictured above is Oumou Camara from the village of Seworo. Oumou is a proud peanut farmer and the first client to enroll in our Senegal program. The women who attended her field tour and saw her testimony were so excited that they created a song to bless the work of myAgro in their village.
This hands-on marketing approach has definitely made an impression in our program villages. Since implementing the farmer testimony meetings, we have seen a jump in enrollment rates and are now already over 25-percent of our goal!
