The myAgro team just reached an important milestone – we delivered inputs to farmers in Mali earlier this month! We made some great progress from last year:
- Last year we worked in 8 villages and served 240 farmers (out of 340 enrolled).
- In those same villages this year we enrolled 730 farmers while also expanding to new villages and enrolling over 1,530 farmers total.
- Out of the 1,530 farmers enrolled, 1,160 farmers finished saving for a planting package (75% completion rate, an improvement on last year’s 70% completion rate).
- 50% of our farmers are women.
- We have 75 farmers who took semoirs (the micro-dosing machine) either on loan or through payment on layaway.
Now that the saving deadline is over, we’re going to analyze our savings data to learn more about farmers’ savings habits (i.e. how many people increased their savings goal versus decreased, most popular package sizes, most popular savings amount, etc.) to improve our process and marketing for next season.
The rains have come and everyone – our team and our farmers – are working on planting as we speak!
